As a teenager, a love of music spurred Laurie’s interest in audio and electronics; he started building his own speakers and tape recorders when he was just 14. This led to an early career playing double bass on the
He spent 25 years as technical director for KEF Electronics, overseeing all system designs including the KEF Reference Series. As Senior Vice President of Engineering for Infinity Systems, he oversaw the design and development of high-quality speakers for home cinema, including the critically acclaimed Infinity Compositions Prelude speakers; and at THX, he directs research and development of new THX technologies and certification programs, both inside and outside the company’s core cinema and home entertainment businesses. Laurie spearheaded the development of the THX Select and THX Ultra2 certification programs for AV receivers and speakers, and the critically acclaimed THX Certified Car Audio program with Ford and BMW.
Laurie is a life fellow of the Audio Engineering Society, and has served as a Governor, Vice President International, and Chairman of the British Section, and is also a member of the Acoustical Society of America. Mr Findham, AV fans worldwide salute you!
